Privacy Policy

The controller of your personal data, meaning the party that decides why and how it is used, is BenchMarked, a sole trader operating from the United Kingdom. BenchMarked may be used from any jurisdiction in which such use is lawful.

Contact us through the contact form on this site. Replies are sent from support@benchmarked.cc.

Account data. Email address and, where one is set, a password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider as a hash and are not accessible to us. We do not collect a name, username, postal address, telephone number, date of birth or payment details.

Sign-in records. For each session, our authentication provider records the IP address from which the session was created, together with the browser and device details transmitted by your browser. An IP address is personal data.

Broker credential. The credential issued by your broker to authorise read-only access, whether a key you generate yourself or a token obtained through an authorisation flow. Its protection is described at section 3.

Broker account data. Orders, cash movements, dividends, holdings, account values, and figures derived from them.

Settings and correspondence. Preferences and benchmark selections, messages submitted through the contact form, and the email address supplied on joining the waitlist.

Account data, the broker credential, broker account data and settings are processed in order to perform our contract with you. Sign-in records, failure records and aggregate page counts are processed for the security and operation of the service, on the basis of our legitimate interests. Waitlist email is sent on the basis of consent, which may be withdrawn at any time.

We do not sell personal data, disclose it for advertising purposes, or use it to train AI models. We do not carry out automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects.

Personal data is disclosed to the following processors, each for the stated purpose: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting and page counts), Resend (email delivery), Sentry (error reports), Cloudflare (routing email to our mailbox), and the provider hosting that mailbox.

Personal data may also be disclosed where required by law, or to establish or defend legal claims.

The database is hosted in Ireland. Other processors may store or process data outside the United Kingdom and the EEA, including in the United States.

Account and portfolio data are retained for the lifetime of the account. Waitlist entries are retained until their deletion is requested, including after unsubscribing. Correspondence is retained in our mailbox. Logs, error reports and backups are retained for the periods set by the relevant processor.

On request through the contact form we will delete your account, together with the encrypted broker credential and all portfolio data associated with it.

Internal failure records and waitlist entries are not linked to the account and require separate deletion on request. Copies may persist in backups and in processor logs until they expire. Disconnection of your broker does not constitute deletion: it removes the stored credential and stops synchronisation, but data already synchronised is retained.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of its processing, and its portability, and to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Requests are free of charge, require no reason, and will be answered within one month of receipt.

Complaints should be addressed to us in the first instance. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. Ours is the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk. Depending on your country of residence, you may instead be entitled to complain to your own authority.

Cookies are used solely to maintain your signed-in session. No advertising cookie is set and no cross-site tracking is performed, and accordingly no consent banner is presented. Theme and chart preferences are stored locally by your browser.

BenchMarked is intended for persons aged 18 or over holding their own brokerage account.

This policy may be amended. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be notified before they take effect.
